Gig Description

Those Naughty Lumps-  From Iggy Pop’s Jacket back in the Zoo Records/Erics days, the Lumps were the Scouse New Wave band too set on having fun to be worried about being as cool as Cope or as whack as Mac. OK they were never going to be Big In Japan, but they’re mahoosive in our hearts. These recently reformed mature gentlemen of punk pop know a thing or two about showmanship, smutty fun and top tunes. Fronted by a WW1 History Prof and a cricketer, you really couldn’t make this up. For fans of Deaf School, The Members, The Boys….Daddy Those Men Scare Me- More prosaically down to earth and utterly English in their punk rock approach, the deliriously good Daddies have been honing their Stranglers/Members/Squeeze informed crafted indeed crafty punk pop round these ‘ere parts for Buggerbear since oooooh 1994, wowsers. Better than ever too, ace band. The Benefit Cheats– Anthemic punk with a decidedly Clash feel bags of energy and conviction, hooky tunes too. Three From Above – ‘the rawness of Japanese clangorous trio Guitar Wolf to the wonderful sounds of David Bowie’s ‘Hunky Dory’, which is being played through on Jack White‘s very own heavily customised guitar amp’. ..this is 3FA’s summary of their sound and it’s bang on, clever, enduring and alluring rock and roll.
