Gig Description

7pm / £5 adv

The Display Team (10.30pm)
https://thedisplayteam.bandcamp.com/

The Display Team play the sort of tunes a condemned clown might whistle en route to the gallows, at once challenging, uplifting, sinister and beautiful. Or so says their mum. If you like energetic, wonky rock musics like Cardiacs, NoMeansNo, XTC or Mr. Bungle, there may be something for you. If you don’t, there may still be something for you. If you like an easy ride, this is not the gig for you. GO AWAY.

Prescott (9.40pm)
https://thoofa.bandcamp.com/releases

Prescott deliver a curious mix of the melodic and discordant with syncopated funky, skewed beats and lopsided, sometimes jabbing riffs that emerge from a complex web of musical interactions and expand or contract like sections of a stuck record.

Ham Legion (8.50pm)
https://ham-legion.bandcamp.com/

Bursting with beaming power-pop, grinding grunge outbursts, dramatic changes of mood and affectionate hooks. Ham Legion's compact mini-epics dive through all this into sudden passages of twisting, complex prog back to the Englishness of 60s pop, punk and new wave and then to occasional moments of restrained delivery and somber reflection. A bizarre but compelling mish-mash of styles and influences in bite sized chunks.

Spannerman (8pm)
http://www.spannerhq.com/

Spannerman, playing their own unique brand of jazz space metal are back together after a break of over 20 years, revisiting some of the music from back in the day as well as a whole bunch of new material
